Opening night at Dodge City Raceway Park went well. I finished fourth in my heat race, which in turn placed me on the 4th row inside to start the feature race. After avoiding a wreck and spinning myself out I worked my way up through the pack and finished 4th. We had 11 cars in the main event and I was happy with the way the car ran and handled. We are going to be doing a little fine tuning on the car this week so we can try and make our way up to the front.

Ellen Powell knows how to operate a camera; that is obvious.  But being in the pit photographing car 21…. speeding by just a few feet away… with the noise… the dirt and smell of spent fuel….well that puts a whole new prospective on picture taking!  Our thanks to Ellen for sharing with all of us….the pictures of Justin and his car 21 as he starts this exciting  season of racing.

Roland, I ran my first race last night down at Liberal, Kansas. I started last row in my heat race and finished in the 4th position. As we ran the feature race, I started second row outside and worked my way to a 3rd place finish for the night.  It was a great first night in the car for me and I was very happy with the results.  I appreciate your help very much. I am looking forward to our second race this Saturday night May 16th and dodge city raceway park.

Jackson Power Steering is proud to sponsor Justin Schulte’s Thunder/stock car #21.  Justin grew up on a farm near Spearville, Kansas.  He has been around racing for a long time and has always wanted to drive his own car.  A year ago he got the opportunity to get his first car.  In his first year, he won five races, a top third finish every night and eventually won the seasons points championship.

This year, Justin purchased his second race car; an early 1980 Chevy Monte Carlo from a gentleman in Dodge City, Kansas.  The car was already modified to be a race car , however,  Justin and his crew made a few changes to get the car track worthy. 

Justin and his crew are are looking forward to a great season and are ready to lay down some serious RUBBER!!   Justin will be racing on a  3/8 mile dirt track.   At Jackson Power Steering, we are very proud of Justin and will be following his race schedule and posting the results for you to see.
