As you can see, Rad’s 8N is in for some heavy snow removal. With a huge snow bucket mounted on a Dearborn Loader, snow chains for the rear tires and a Jackson Power Steering unit….installed for effortless steering, Rad is ready to have an enjoyable tractor driving experience. Thanks to Rad for sending me this picture.
Jimmy Flint’s 800 Ford has a power steering pump to power the steering unit. Jimmy was one of the first to install a power steering pump on his tractor. Until then, JPS power steering units were powered by the front mounted loader pump.
Charles Courtney is the very first Jackson Power Steering customer. Charles came to my facility, looked at the steering kit in component form, and decided to purchase one. He and I, together, installed the steering unit in one day. Since that time, I have made many improvements to the steering unit through customer feedback. Constructive feedback allows me to improve instructions…to make them more clear…. and also improve the design of the steering unit. My thanks to Charles for his help in making the steering unit better.
Mike Crissman was the very first customer to install a Jackson Power Steering unit on his 1801 Ford Industrial Backhoe. Mike was very helpful in giving me feedback on installing the steering unit. Many thanks to Mike for sending the picture with kind words.
Rick Meyers’ 850 was the first 800 Series Ford to get a Jackson Power Steering unit. That was in 1999. I build steering units to last and to date, I do not know of one that has failed. My thanks to Rick for the picture and kind words.

Hello Roland,
My name is Reno Judde, I purchased a unit from you about 2 years ago, I really enjoy it and haven’t had a bit of trouble with it! Thanks for a great product. Here’s a few pictures of my restoration tractor. Someday I’ll finish it.
Thanks again.

“With a Davis Loader, power steering on my NAA is a must. The Jackson Power Steering unit works very well and makes my tractor very easy to steer”
Happiness is having power steering.
I am finally finished with the installation of your unit. Today I helped my brother do some brush pile moving and it is unbelievable how no effort is needed to steer my Ford. When I bought it, It was almost impossible to turn the tractor without standing up and using all of my arm muscles. I am ready to put it to use and am very pleased with your product and support. I still have a little painting to do.
Sincerely,
John Peterson
I finished installing the power steering unit on my 4000, and it works beautifully. If a 76 year old with heart trouble and a left hand with 2 fingers missing can do it without any help whatsoever, then I guess anyone can.

A note from Roland Jackson…..I was saddened to learn that V.A. Van Buren had passed away on September 14, 2004. Van, as he was known by his many friends, was very active on the Yesterday’s Tractors Ford Tractor discussion board. He was very knowledgeable about machinery…actually, anything mechanical. He loved to share his mechanical knowledge.
Van was especially helpful to me in the power steering business. In the early days of Jackson Power Steering, Van was the very first customer to order a steering unit by phone and install the unit by himself. He was very helpful to me as he gave me valuable feedback on how I could improve the unit and make it easier to install.
Through the years, Van always kept in touch as well as his wonderful wife, Kay. I will certainly miss his email updates and pictures.
